Latina Life Stories speaker series

The Latina Life Stories speaker series is an important part of this course. Speakers are invited to read their work and explore the Latina feminist tradition of seeing the body and personal experiences as a site for theory making, building on Cherrie Moraga’s concept of “theorizing from the flesh.”  The format is that the guest speaker will read from their work for approximately 15-20 mins, then they will be in conversation with me and I will ask 3-4 questions, and then we will open it up to the audience for questions. This speaker series is recorded and photographed and will live in a digital archive in the Brooklyn College Library.

The Latina Life Stories speaker series is curated by Vanessa Pérez-Rosario.
